Dr. Greens Partnership with Brocport
God’s Vision Ministries has proudly partnered with the Brockport community for over 13 years. This partnership began with a shared goal of expanding opportunities for our young men by exposing them to experiences beyond their city environment. We wanted our students to see possibilities outside their immediate surroundings and to envision themselves in college and future careers.
What started as an annual one-day field trip to the Brockport campus quickly grew into something much more impactful. During those early visits, students spent the day on campus, met college professors, and connected with key members of the Brockport community. These experiences allowed them to see college life firsthand and understand that higher education was within reach.
As the program continued to grow, the vision expanded into a structured summer program. The goal was not only exposure, but also academic continuity. The Brockport Summer Program was designed to prevent summer learning loss by helping students maintain the academic progress they made during the school year. Students continue to build skills in reading and math, carrying their learning from June into the following September.
The program also provides a safe, structured environment throughout the summer. Over the course of five weeks, students participate in daily academic instruction, enjoy hot meals, take part in recreational activities such as swimming, and engage with college professors and mentors. Most importantly, the program offers students a positive space that supports growth, learning, and accountability.
This long-standing partnership has truly become a community effort. The Brockport community has embraced our young men and continues to support their educational journey. Together, we remain committed to providing meaningful opportunities that encourage academic success, personal growth, and a vision for life beyond the city limits.
